Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments via phone, email, or secure messaging to determine the urgency of medical needs.
- Utilize evidence-based triage protocols to guide patient care recommendations and self-management instructions.
- Document all patient interactions accurately and timely within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians and nurse practitioners to coordinate referrals and specialist appointments.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
- Provide empathetic and clear communication to patients regarding symptoms, medications, and next steps.
- Monitor and escalate critical cases to the on-call medical staff immediately.
Qualifications
- Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of nursing experience, with a preference for urgent care or triage experience.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is required.
- Proficient in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) and telehealth platforms.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress situations.
