Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive telephonic assessments to determine the urgency and appropriate level of care for incoming patient calls.
- Document all patient interactions, medical histories, and triage decisions accurately and promptly in the EMR system.
- Provide clear patient education and instructions regarding symptoms, medications, and self-care management.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, care managers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Manage and prioritize high-volume patient queues to ensure timely response times.
- Escalate critical medical situations immediately to ensure patient safety.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Tennessee.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in clinical nursing, with specific preference for triage or telehealth experience.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, AthenaHealth).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Ability to work independently while adhering to strict protocols and compliance standards.
