Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid patient assessments to determine acuity levels and prioritize treatment in the emergency department
- Accurately document patient symptoms, vital signs, and medical histories using Epic EHR systems
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop patient care plans
- Provide clear, empathetic communication to patients and families regarding wait times and care procedures
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and hospital safety protocols
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives for triage processes
- Support emergency preparedness drills and departmental training sessions
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Tennessee (or compact license)
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from accredited program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure in high-stress situations
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
- No prior triage experience necessary – training provided
