Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms and medical history to determine urgency of care
- Accurately prioritize patients based on clinical acuity using established protocols
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers
- Document assessments and care plans in electronic health records (EHR)
- Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to coordinate patient flow
- Provide clear instructions for home care or emergency department arrival
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and hospital policies
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Kentucky (or compact state license)
- ADN or BSN degree from accredited nursing program
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure in fast-paced environments
- Basic computer proficiency with EHR systems
