Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive telephone triage using clinical judgment protocols
- Assess patient symptoms and determine appropriate care level (ED vs. urgent care)
- Document encounters in Epic EHR systems with 100% accuracy
- Collaborate with physicians and care coordinators for complex cases
- Provide discharge instructions and follow-up care coordination
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Current Michigan RN license (or willingness to obtain during training)
- BSN degree preferred (ADN candidates with 2+ years ER experience considered)
- BLS/ACLS certification (training provided)
- Strong assessment skills and clinical decision-making ability
- Excellent communication and de-escalation techniques
- Proficiency in electronic medical records
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts including weekends
