As a Triage Nurse, you will be the bridge between patients and medical professionals, utilizing your clinical expertise to assess symptoms and guide care decisions.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed phone and video triage assessments to evaluate patient symptoms.
- Apply clinical protocols and decision trees to determine appropriate medical care levels.
- Provide clear, empathetic education on home care, medication, and wellness.
- Document all interactions accurately and efficiently in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Escalate complex cases to physicians and providers promptly.
- Maintain a high level of patient satisfaction and retention.
- Participate in ongoing training and quality assurance reviews.
Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered RN license in the State of Texas.
- Completion of a formal Triage Nurse training program (Our Paid Training Program is available).
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience preferred (graduates with strong clinical rotations are encouraged to apply).
- Proficient with EMR/EHR systems and computer navigation.
- Strong verbal communication and active listening skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a high volume of calls.
