Responsibilities
- Assess patient acuity using standardized triage protocols and prioritize emergency cases
- Collaborate with physicians to develop immediate treatment plans for critical patients
- Document patient encounters accurately in EMR systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Provide clear medical guidance to patients via phone triage for non-emergency cases
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient flow through the ED
- Maintain inventory of triage supplies and equipment readiness
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Current Arizona RN license with BSN or higher
- Minimum 3 years emergency department experience
- TAS (Triage Accuracy Scale) certification preferred
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Demonstrated expertise in rapid patient assessment
- Exceptional communication and crisis management skills
- Proficiency in Epic EMR systems
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
