As a Triage Nurse, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, utilizing your expertise to assess symptoms, prioritize care, and ensure seamless transitions to the appropriate medical providers.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive phone assessments for patients reporting symptoms of illness or injury.
- Determine the urgency of patient needs and facilitate appropriate triage to providers, urgent care, or emergency services.
- Document all interactions accurately and promptly in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Provide patient education and self-care instructions to promote recovery and prevent readmission.
- Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to ensure continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes.
- Manage call queues efficiently while maintaining a professional and empathetic demeanor.
Qualifications
- Active and unencumbered RN license in the state of Tennessee.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience (Triage experience preferred).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex medical information clearly.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record systems (EMR/EHR).
- Ability to work independently and manage high call volumes under pressure.
