Job Summary
In this role, you will be the first point of contact for many of our patients. Your expertise in medical assessment will help us prioritize cases efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and symptom evaluations to determine urgency and appropriate level of care.
- Prioritize patient flow and manage the triage queue based on clinical acuity and severity.
- Document detailed patient encounters, medical history, and triage findings accurately in the EMR system.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members regarding treatment plans and next steps.
- Collaborate with physicians and advanced practice providers to facilitate timely referrals and consultations.
- Provide patient education and health coaching to promote wellness and prevent readmission.
Qualifications
- Current, active RN license in the State of New Mexico.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital, urgent care, or emergency department setting.
- Strong knowledge of triage protocols, medical terminology, and clinical decision-making.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
