Responsibilities
- Assess patient acuity and prioritize emergency department arrivals using standardized protocols
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop patient care plans
- Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in EHR systems
- Provide education to patients/families regarding triage processes and emergency care
- Monitor department flow and communicate bed availability to leadership
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives for triage accuracy
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Texas (or compact state)
- Minimum 2 years emergency department or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Proficient in EHR documentation (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- BSN degree preferred (ADN candidates with 5+ years experience considered)
