Responsibilities
- Assess patient acuity and prioritize emergency department visits using standardized triage protocols
- Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to develop appropriate care plans
- Document patient assessments and medical histories accurately in EHR systems
- Provide education to patients regarding emergency procedures and home care instructions
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and patient privacy regulations
- Coordinate with ancillary departments to ensure seamless patient flow
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Virginia (or compact state)
- Minimum 2 years emergency department or critical care experience
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Proficiency in EHR documentation systems
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- BSN preferred or equivalent experience
