Position Overview:
As a Triage Nurse, you will serve as the first point of contact for our patients, utilizing your clinical expertise to assess symptoms, provide guidance, and facilitate appropriate care. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive telephone assessments of patient symptoms and medical histories.
- Apply evidence-based triage protocols to determine the urgency of care needs.
- Provide accurate health education and self-care instructions to patients.
- Document all triage encounters, assessments, and disposition plans in the EMR.
- Coordinate timely referrals to physicians, specialists, or urgent care facilities.
- Manage high call volumes while maintaining high-quality patient satisfaction scores.
- Collaborate with the nursing and medical staff to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred.
- Previous experience in triage, urgent care, or telehealth is highly desirable.
- Strong verbal communication and active listening skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make critical decisions under pressure.
- Proficient in using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
