Responsibilities
- Assess and triage incoming patient calls to determine medical urgency and appropriate level of care.
- Provide initial medical advice, symptom evaluation, and treatment instructions based on established protocols.
- Document patient interactions, medical history, and triage decisions accurately and promptly in the EMR.
- Coordinate patient referrals to appropriate healthcare providers, specialists, or facilities.
- Monitor patient symptoms and escalate critical cases to providers or emergency services immediately.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Minnesota.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with a preference for triage or telehealth experience.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to de-escalate sensitive situations and convey complex medical information clearly.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, or similar experience preferred).
