Responsibilities
- Assess patient calls via telephone and electronic triage systems to determine medical urgency
- Provide accurate clinical advice and instructions to patients across all age groups
- Collaborate with physicians and care teams to prioritize patient care needs
- Maintain detailed documentation of assessments and interventions in EMR systems
- Coordinate emergency responses and direct patients to appropriate care settings
- Educate patients on symptoms requiring immediate medical attention
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives for triage protocols
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Nevada with at least 2 years of ER or urgent care experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Proficient in telephone triage protocols (e.g., Triage First or ESI)
- Strong assessment skills for diverse patient populations
- Experience with Epic or similar EMR systems
- Exceptional communication and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
