Responsibilities
- Assess patient symptoms via phone and telehealth to determine urgency and appropriate care pathways
- Accurately document patient encounters in EMR systems with 99% compliance
- Coordinate with physicians and specialists for complex case management
- Provide clear, empathetic patient education on home care instructions and follow-up protocols
- Maintain HIPAA compliance while handling sensitive patient information
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives for triage protocols
- Manage high-volume call centers during peak hours with calm efficiency
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Virginia with minimum 2 years ER or urgent care experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required (PALS preferred)
- Proficiency in Epic or EMR triage documentation systems
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Strong communication abilities with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts in fast-paced environments
- Experience with pediatric/adult triage protocols
- Must pass background check and drug screening
