Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive telephone and in-person patient assessments to determine acuity level
- Utilize clinical judgment to prioritize patient care based on established protocols
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient flow
- Document patient encounters accurately and maintain electronic health records
- Provide education and guidance to patients regarding appropriate care resources
- Manage high-volume call centers during peak hours while maintaining quality standards
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives for triage processes
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of Alaska
- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Strong assessment skills with ability to make critical decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to completing our paid triage certification program
