Responsibilities
- Take and record patient vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, weight) accurately and in a timely manner.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, explaining processes to alleviate anxiety.
- Assist healthcare providers during exams and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Administer medications and injections under the direct supervision of a physician or nurse practitioner.
- Update and maintain patient medical records and charts in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and phlebotomy duties as required.
- Communicate effectively with patients and staff to provide excellent customer service.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; CMA or RMA certification is a plus but not mandatory for entry-level applicants.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required upon hire.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Basic computer proficiency and typing skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new medical technologies and protocols.
