Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse rate, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, ensuring they feel safe and comfortable in their environment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient care plans, dietary intake, and changes in condition.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by licensed nurses, adhering strictly to safety protocols.
- Transport patients to and from medical appointments, therapy sessions, or activity areas.
- Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient care.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
- Previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting is preferred but not required for high-potential candidates.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients as needed.
- Commitment to infection control standards and patient safety protocols.
