Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, reporting any abnormalities immediately.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide basic bedside care and comfort measures to patients in various settings, including long-term care facilities and home health.
- Collaborate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare team members to update patient care plans.
- Transport patients to treatment areas, surgical suites, or laboratories using wheelchairs, stretchers, or mobile stretchers.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for patients and staff, adhering to all infection control protocols.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license valid in the State of New York.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certifications.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred but not always required for top candidates.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to read and comprehend instructions and correspondence.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move patients as necessary.
- A genuine, caring demeanor with a strong commitment to patient safety and satisfaction.
