Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Hygiene & Infection Control: Maintain a clean and sanitized environment, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure holistic care.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to patient emergencies and assist the nursing staff as needed.
Qualifications
- Active CNA License: Must hold a current, unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant license in Virginia.
- BLS Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting is preferred but not mandatory for qualified applicants.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift patients (up to 250 lbs), and perform physical tasks.
- Compassion: Strong empathy and patient-centered approach to care.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
