Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiratory rate, reporting any abnormalities to the Registered Nurse immediately.
- Communication: Effectively communicate patient status and changes in condition to the nursing staff and families, ensuring a continuum of care.
- Hygiene & Safety: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, ensuring infection control protocols are strictly followed.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient care activities, interventions, and responses in electronic health records (EHR) within designated timeframes.
- Assistance: Support patients with mobility transfers, including the use of walkers, wheelchairs, and hoyer lifts, ensuring patient safety at all times.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, unencumbered North Carolina CNA or LPN license.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a long-term care, assisted living, or hospital setting is preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
- Skills: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact compassionately with patients and families.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks related to patient care.
- Soft Skills: Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a strong work ethic.
