Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, orthodontic, and surgical treatments
- Manage infection control protocols and sterilization of dental instruments
- Take and develop precise dental radiographs (X-rays) and impressions
- Perform chairside assistance with suctioning, instrument transfer, and material preparation
- Handle patient education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care instructions
- Manage digital patient records using Eaglesoft practice management software
- Oversee inventory control and ordering of dental supplies
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and strict patient confidentiality standards
Qualifications
- Active Dental Assisting certification (DANB or state-recognized equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in general dentistry
- Current radiography certification and BLS/CPR certification
- Proficiency with digital imaging and practice management software
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to ease patient anxiety
- Strong attention to detail and excellent manual dexterity
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a high-volume practice
- Valid Texas dental assistant permit and up-to-date immunizations
