Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative treatments and oral surgeries
- Take and develop accurate dental X-rays while ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Manage sterilization protocols and maintain HIPAA-compliant patient records
- Prepare treatment rooms and dental instruments for efficient clinical workflows
- Deliver patient education on post-treatment care and oral hygiene best practices
- Coordinate scheduling and inventory management for dental supplies
- Assist in emergency dental situations with calm professionalism
Qualifications
- Active Dental Assistant certification or X-ray license in Louisiana
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in dental software (Epic, Dentrix, or similar)
- CPR certification and BLS training
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to multitask in fast-paced clinical environments
- Strong attention to detail and infection control protocols
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
