Responsibilities
- Patient Care & Intake: Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and accurately record vital signs and medical history.
- Provider Assistance: Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during examinations and minor procedures.
- Administrative Management: Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR), process lab results, and handle incoming calls and correspondence.
- Medication & Injection Support: Prepare and administer medications, injections, and immunizations as directed by providers.
- Lab Coordination: Collect and process phlebotomy specimens in compliance with CLIA and OSHA standards.
- Education: Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, and preventative health measures.
Qualifications
- Certification: Must possess current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a primary care or specialty practice setting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) is highly desirable.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong patient-first mindset.
