Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake, including medical history review and vitals measurement, ensuring accuracy and privacy.
- Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during examinations and procedures.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and maintain inventory of medical supplies.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by providers and document patient responses.
- Coordinate patient appointments, referrals, and follow-up care; act as a liaison between patients and the office.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) and ensure all clinical documentation is completed in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a physician's office or clinic setting preferred.
- Strong computer literacy with experience in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
