Responsibilities
- Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical instruments to ensure a safe environment.
- Take and accurately record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration.
- Assist physicians and nursing staff with patient examinations, procedures, and minor medical treatments.
- Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and administer injections as directed by the provider.
- Manage and update Electronic Health Records (EHR) with precision and confidentiality.
- Coordinate patient appointments, referrals, and prescription refills to ensure seamless care.
- Greet patients warmly, manage front-desk administrative tasks, and answer phone inquiries.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred; graduates with a diploma or certificate are encouraged to apply.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience in a medical office setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficiency in electronic health record software (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs when necessary.
