Responsibilities
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to services.
- Prepare and submit accurate medical claims (CMS-1500) to insurance carriers.
- Review Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements and resolve any discrepancies.
- Manage claim denials and appeals process efficiently.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient billing records.
- Communicate with patients regarding outstanding balances and payment plans.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Medical Billing, Coding, or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Certification as a CPC, CPC-H, or CMC is a strong plus.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Proficiency with medical billing software (Epic, AthenaHealth, or similar).
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
