Responsibilities
- Prescription Processing: Accurately receive, verify, and process prescriptions for patients under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, order pharmaceutical supplies, and maintain accurate inventory records to ensure medication availability.
- Patient Interaction: Assist customers with prescription inquiries, provide medication counseling where appropriate, and ensure a welcoming atmosphere.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere strictly to all state and federal laws, including HIPAA regulations, to ensure patient privacy and safety.
- Quality Assurance: Perform routine checks to ensure the accuracy of medication labels and dosages before dispensing.
- Documentation: Maintain precise records of medication transactions and patient profiles using pharmacy management software.
Qualifications
- Certification: PTCB or ExCPT certification required.
- Licensure: Current Pennsylvania Pharmacy Technician license.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to perform repetitive tasks with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in pharmacy software systems (e.g., Rx30, StarLink) and general computer operations.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift boxes weighing up to 25 lbs.
