Responsibilities
- Assess patients' medical conditions and needs, and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary team members.
- Administer medications and treatments according to established medical protocols and hospital standards.
- Monitor patients' vital signs, symptoms, and progress, reporting any changes or adverse reactions immediately to the nursing supervisor or physician.
- Provide direct patient care, including wound care, catheterization, and tracheostomy management as required.
- Educate patients and their families on disease processes, treatment plans, and self-care techniques to promote recovery and prevent readmission.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, therapists, and social workers to ensure holistic patient care.
Qualifications
- Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting.
- Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
