Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist physicians and registered nurses with patient examinations, treatments, and procedures.
- Vitals & Intake: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, heart rate) and complete initial health histories.
- Administrative Support: Manage patient scheduling, maintain electronic health records (EHR), and process insurance verifications and authorizations.
- Laboratory Tasks: Perform basic lab tests, phlebotomy, and specimen collection according to strict safety protocols.
- Communication: Serve as a primary liaison between patients and the healthcare team to ensure clear and effective communication.
- Infection Control: Adhere to strict sterilization and sanitation standards to maintain a safe clinical environment.
Qualifications
- Certification: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program with CMA, RMA, or NCMA certification preferred.
- License: Current Colorado Medical Assistant license (or ability to obtain prior to start).
- CPR: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
- Experience: 1+ years of clinical experience in a medical office or hospital setting preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth) and strong computer literacy.
- Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
