Responsibilities
- Measure and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and weight.
- Prepare examination rooms for patient visits and sterilize medical instruments.
- Assist physicians and nurses during clinical procedures and examinations.
- Draw blood samples for lab work and prepare specimens for analysis.
- Schedule patient appointments, manage referrals, and handle incoming calls.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by licensed providers.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records and electronic health records (EHR).
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Certification (CMA, RMA, or NCMA) or registration is preferred.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and CPR certification required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centric approach.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a busy clinical setting.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EHR) systems.
- Valid Indiana driver's license and reliable transportation.
