Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures following strict safety protocols
- Process and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis while maintaining chain of custody integrity
- Provide exceptional patient care with empathy during blood draw procedures
- Operate and maintain phlebotomy equipment including vacutainers, needles, and anticoagulants
- Document patient information and test requisitions with precision using EMR systems
- Collaborate with medical staff to resolve specimen collection challenges
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and infection control standards
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, AMT, or NHA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience in a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of venipuncture techniques and specimen handling
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Exceptional communication skills for patient interaction
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Valid Colorado driver's license (if required for specimen transport)
