Responsibilities
- Assess patient acuity and prioritize emergency cases using established triage protocols
- Obtain detailed patient histories and perform rapid physical assessments
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely interventions
- Document patient encounters accurately in electronic health records
- Provide clear communication to patients and families about treatment plans
- Maintain emergency department flow efficiency during high-volume periods
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Virginia
- Minimum 2 years emergency department or urgent care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Strong assessment skills and critical thinking abilities
- Excellent communication and de-escalation techniques
- Ability to work effectively under pressure with minimal supervision
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
- BSN or higher degree preferred
