Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
- Monitor Vital Signs: Regularly check and record patient blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates as directed by nurses.
- Assist with Mobility: Safely transfer and move patients using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Document Patient Status: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and patient logs in compliance with facility protocols.
- Communicate Effectively: Serve as a key communication bridge between patients, families, and the nursing staff.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to patient emergencies and assist with basic life support when necessary.
Qualifications
- Valid CNA License: Must possess a current and active Certified Nursing Assistant license in North Carolina.
- CPR Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting is preferred but not mandatory for qualified candidates.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift patients for extended periods; physical ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Compassion & Patience: Strong interpersonal skills with a genuine desire to help others and maintain a positive, empathetic attitude.
- Attention to Detail: Excellent organizational skills with a focus on accuracy in patient care and documentation.
