Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Greet patients, verify information, and prepare them for examination by the provider.
- Assistance: Assist physicians and nursing staff during examinations and procedures.
- Vitals & EKG: Accurately measure and record patient vitals (blood pressure, heart rate, etc.) and perform EKGs.
- Lab Work: Collect and process laboratory specimens according to established protocols.
- Admin: Update and maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and medical charts.
- Communication: Educate patients on medications, treatments, and follow-up care instructions.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- CPR: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience: 1+ years of clinical experience in a physician practice or outpatient setting is preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- License: State of Texas Medical Assistant license (if required).
