Responsibilities
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming under the supervision of nursing staff.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, and pulse, reporting any significant changes to the charge nurse.
- Provide basic bedside care to patients in recovery rooms and wards.
- Transport patients to and from treatment areas, operating wheelchairs or stretchers as needed.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and patient needs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitized environment to prevent infection and ensure patient comfort.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team regarding patient status.
Qualifications
- Must possess a valid and current California CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) License.
- Completion of a state-approved nursing assistant training program and certification exam is required.
- CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is mandatory prior to start date.
- High school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure medical environment.
- Physical stamina to lift and move patients and stand for extended periods.
- Compassionate demeanor and a genuine desire to help others.
