Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate care to patients, including assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming).
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Turn and reposition bedridden patients to prevent pressure sores and ensure patient comfort.
- Assist with patient mobility, including transferring patients to and from beds, wheelchairs, or stretchers.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for patients, including proper sanitation and infection control procedures.
- Document patient care activities, intake/output, and changes in patient condition accurately in electronic health records.
- Communicate effectively with the nursing team, patients, and families to ensure holistic care delivery.
Qualifications
- Current and active Virginia CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) license required.
- Certification in BLS (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Providers is mandatory.
- Previous experience in a hospital, nursing home, or home health setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and families.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Compassionate demeanor with a strong commitment to patient safety and quality care.
- Flexibility to work rotating night shifts and weekends as required.
