Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care to patients, including bathing, grooming, and dressing assistance.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using proper body mechanics.
- Monitor patient health status and report any changes or concerns to the charge nurse immediately.
- Document patient care activities, intake, and output accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and safe environment for patients and staff.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) to ensure dignity and comfort.
Qualifications
- Current, active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license issued by the State of Texas.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting or long-term care is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on empathy.
- Ability to lift and move patients weighing up to 250 lbs safely.
- Reliable transportation and a history of punctuality.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
