Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during clinical procedures
- Administer medications and injections under provider supervision
- Perform vital signs, EKGs, and basic lab testing
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) and patient scheduling
- Coordinate patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Maintain sterile exam environments and inventory supplies
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Qualifications
- Accredited Medical Assistant certification (CMA/RMA/NCMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in ambulatory care
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic/NextGen preferred)
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance protocols
- Excellent communication and multitasking abilities
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts (including weekends)
- North Carolina medical assistant license
