Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during clinical procedures
- Accurately record vital signs and medical histories in EHR systems
- Administer medications and injections as per physician protocols
- Perform basic lab tests and specimen processing
- Maintain sterile exam rooms and inventory of medical supplies
- Schedule patient appointments and handle insurance verifications
- Coordinate with billing department for coding and documentation
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA or RMA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in ambulatory setting
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Proficiency in EMR systems (Epic or NextGen preferred)
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance protocols
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings/weekends
- High school diploma or equivalent required
