Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with patient examinations, diagnostic procedures, and minor treatments
- Perform clinical tasks including EKGs, phlebotomy, and medication administration
- Manage patient records, scheduling, and electronic health documentation
- Prepare exam rooms, sterilize equipment, and maintain inventory of supplies
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care
- Coordinate with insurance providers and billing departments
- Support telehealth initiatives and digital health record systems
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in a fast-paced healthcare setting
- BLS/CPR certification and New York State medical assistant license
- Expertise in EHR systems (Epic or NextGen preferred)
- Exceptional communication skills and cultural competency
- Ability to multitask effectively in high-pressure situations
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance protocols
- Associate degree in Medical Assisting or equivalent certification
