Responsibilities
- Patient Intake & Triage: Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and accurately complete intake forms.
- Vital Signs & Exams: Measure and record patient vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, weight) and assist providers with physical examinations.
- Laboratory Work: Perform basic laboratory tests, such as blood draws, urinalysis, and EKGs, following strict safety protocols.
- Administrative Support: Manage appointment scheduling, maintain electronic health records (EHR), and process insurance claims efficiently.
- Patient Education: Provide clear instructions on medication, follow-up care, and healthy lifestyle choices to patients and families.
- Compliance: Adhere to HIPAA regulations and clinic policies to ensure patient confidentiality and safety at all times.
Qualifications
- Education: Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (CMA, RMA, or CNA certification preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a medical office setting is highly desired.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Skills: Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EHR) systems and strong computer literacy.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Reliability: Must be punctual, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced, urgent care environment.
