Responsibilities
- Conduct Patient Exams: Assist providers with physical examinations, record patient histories, and take vitals (blood pressure, temperature, etc.) accurately.
- Administer Care: Perform venipuncture, EKGs, and point-of-care testing as required by the clinical protocols.
- Prepare Clinical Environment: Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of examination rooms and medical equipment to ensure patient safety.
- Patient Interaction: Greet patients, verify insurance information, and explain treatment plans clearly to ensure high satisfaction.
- Administrative Support: Handle front desk duties including scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and processing lab results.
- Medication Management: Assist with medication reconciliation and ensure all prescribed medications are documented correctly.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent certification (CMA, RMA, or MA).
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certifications required; Phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a busy medical practice is highly preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and strong computer literacy.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all backgrounds.
- Location: Must reside in or be willing to relocate to San Diego, CA.
