Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits for timely reimbursement
- Manage denial resolution and appeals processes efficiently
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer regulations
- Reconcile accounts receivable and resolve billing discrepancies
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure documentation accuracy
- Generate monthly reports on billing performance metrics
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Proficiency in medical coding (ICD-10, CPT) and billing software (Epic, Medisoft)
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credential preferred
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes and third-party payers
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
- Associate's degree in Health Information Management or related field
