Responsibilities
- Accurately process and submit medical claims to insurance companies and government payers (Medicare/Medicaid)
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits before service rendering
- Conduct thorough claim follow-up and resolve denials within SLA timelines
- Perform timely posting of payments and adjustments in EHR systems
- Generate monthly billing reports and analyze denial trends for process improvement
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and billing guidelines
- Collaborate with clinical staff to resolve billing discrepancies and documentation issues
Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on medical billing experience in a US healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or equivalent certification preferred
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Medisoft)
- Expert knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage high-volume claims in a fast-paced environment
- Associates degree in Healthcare Administration or related field
