Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance companies (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payers)
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits prior to service delivery
- Resolve billing discrepancies through insurance appeals and patient follow-up
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CPT, and ICD-10 coding standards
- Analyze denial trends to implement process improvements
- Collaborate with clinical teams for documentation accuracy
- Generate monthly reports on key performance metrics
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a clinic/hospital setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credential required
- Proficiency in Epic, NextGen, or similar EHR systems
- Expert knowledge of CPT/HCPCS coding guidelines
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Experience with electronic claims submission (270/271)
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
