Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense medications and verify prescriptions
- Manage inventory control and stock rotation
- Process insurance claims and patient billing
- Provide exceptional patient counseling and education
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and regulatory documentation
- Collaborate with pharmacists on compounding preparations
- Train new pharmacy technicians on protocols
Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician license
- Prior hospital or retail pharmacy experience
- CPhT certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Proficiency in pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS/1)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends
