Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage prescription processing workflow and inventory control systems
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling to patients
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and pharmacy board regulations
- Process insurance claims and third-party billing documentation
- Coordinate with healthcare providers and insurance companies for medication authorization
- Train and mentor new pharmacy technicians as needed
Qualifications
- Active Ohio Pharmacy Technician license or ability to obtain within 30 days
- 1+ years of retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification strongly preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell, Rx30)
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in medication handling
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Pass background check and drug screening
