Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision while maintaining strict compliance with state and federal regulations
- Manage pharmaceutical inventory, including ordering, receiving, and tracking controlled substances with meticulous documentation
- Process insurance claims and assist patients with medication therapy management and insurance inquiries
- Operate automated dispensing systems and pharmacy software with precision and efficiency
- Provide exceptional customer service while counseling patients on medication usage and potential side effects
- Maintain sterile compounding environments and adhere to USP 797 standards when preparing IV medications
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care coordination
Qualifications
- Active Texas Pharmacy Technician license in good standing
- PTCB certification or equivalent credential required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in retail or hospital pharmacy settings
- Proven expertise in inventory management and controlled substance protocols
- Exceptional attention to detail with demonstrated accuracy in prescription processing
- Proficiency in pharmacy management systems (e.g., Omnicell, QS1)
- Strong communication skills with ability to clearly explain complex medication information
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments while maintaining HIPAA compliance
