Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescription medications for patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Verify patient information, dosage, and medication interactions to ensure accuracy and patient safety.
- Manage inventory levels, including ordering, receiving, and storing pharmaceutical supplies.
- Process insurance claims and handle cash transactions at the front desk efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with patients, answering questions regarding medications and providing general pharmacy assistance.
- Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment in compliance with health regulations.
- Assist in the compounding of medications and preparation of sterile products when required.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred, or enrollment in an accredited pharmacy technician program.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer service-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with pharmacy management software.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is a plus.
